what to wear
what you wear during your photo session is a big deal. the best clothing is what you are comfortable in. your outfit should be a reflection of YOU and who you are. i believe that the non-traditional images have a deeper meaning. i recommend wearing colors that pop. do not be afraid of color, patterns or layers. layers help give different looks out of one outfit. please try to stray away from logos, lettering, ball caps, sun glasses, and characters. scarves, ties, fashion hats, accessories and props make the photo pop. families need not to match but rather coordinate the clothing. matching shirts and pants tend to be a distraction to your portraits. i highly recommend bringing a hairbrush or comb, lipgloss or chapstick, make up for touch ups, mirror and a friend or family member to help out with last minute needs. props are also a big part of the photo session. if your little one has a favorite teddy bear or blanky, bring it. if you're a senior and you just LOVE those red heels, bring them! we can encorporate almost anything into your session. these are merely suggestions and feel free to ask if you need more.

the best memories are captured when we are being ourselves and loving our surroundings. let your hair down and have FUN! i believe in the non-traditional portraits, where the kids are running around laughing, telling secrets to each other, hugging their mom and dad, or just simply making silly faces. in the years to come, it will not matter if the child was posing to say "cheese" in every single image but looking at your images and saying, "that is so HER" is the best feeling. we all change each year and knowing that we have documented that special time in your life, makes me feel all warm inside.
